Opportunities...

There are numerous opportunities in the world to make a difference in somebody’s life.  However, most of the time we (including me) let our feelings of timidity get the best of us.  Timidity is the result of fear and can only be cured by stepping out in faith.  Yes, it does involve getting out of your comfort zone but it will be the best thing that you will ever do.  Remember, the Lord doesn't want us to live with a spirit of fear.  If we would only trust Him to heal our fear just imagine how far He can and will take us.  It is such a privilege to serve the Lord!

When I gave the altar call at last years event I was so nervous that I didn't know what to say.  I realized that the first step, obedience, had already been accomplished by my simply stepping out on stage.  All you need for the Lord to work through you is a willing heart.  If I had given into fear and avoided speaking to the crowd, the people might have heard about Jesus from someone else, but I would have missed the joy of seeing people make a life change.

Will you join me in making a difference in someone’s life?  It truly is a blessing to be a part of something bigger than yourself.  If you’re obedient to the Lord's calling, He will remove your fear and give you the strength to handle any situation.  Amber Peterson, a former witness counselor, shares her experience at last year’s event.

“I had the privilege of speaking with two girl’s ages 14 and 15, leading them in a prayer to accept Jesus into their hearts.  I have been a Christian for sometime now, but actually witnessing to a new believer was a step in my personal walk with Christ that I had not taken before.  JudahFest 2009 is something that I will never forget because of the opportunity to be a part of the witness counsel team and to be able to share Christ with others.  I pray that you will take the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with someone.  As a witness counselor you will experience the joy of somebody turning their heart towards Christ, and that is truly unforgettable.”  -Amber Peterson-

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us spirits of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
